Abstract
INTRODUCTION: OUES has been demonstrated it¡¯s validity to evaluate aerobic capacity. The purpose of this study was to assess the validity of OUES by BMI level, and also evaluate which factors were able to evaluate aerobic capacity in overweight and obesity population.

METHOD: All subjects were divided by 3 groups: normal(G1), overweight(G2), and obesity(G3) by BMI and performed maximal exercise testing. Pearson¡¯s correlations were used to compare the correlations between VO2max and OUES in each group. Also, multiple regressions were performed to analyze which effects the aerobic capacity significantly in each group.

RESULT VO2max and OUES were significantly correlated in three groups. Also, VO2peak was significanly effect on VO2max in three groups. Age, height, weight and BMI were significantly effect on VO2max in G3. However, caution is required to explain in case of obesity group(G3).

CONCLUSION: OUES is able to utilize to evaluate aerobic capacity, because it minimizes the errors from VO2max estimation. Further studies with more variable measurements and bigger population from various age levels should be performed and participated to analyzed the effects of BMI on aerobic capacity in obese population.
